Board Licensure Membership Bylaws

ArAMFT LICENSURE INFORMATION

    Act 244 of 1997 amended Arkansas Code 17-27-101 to provided for the licensure and regulation of Marriage and Family Therapists for the protection of public health, safety, and welfare.

   A licensed marriage and family therapist is any person who holds himself or herself out to the public by any title or description of services incorporating the words "licensed marriage and family therapist" or who offers to render marriage and family therapy services to individuals, groups, couples, families, or organizations, etc., for monetary remuneration or otherwise implying that he or she is licensed, trained, experienced, or expert in marriage and family therapy, and who holds a current, valid license to practice marriage and family therapy with the exception listed under section 17-27-103.  A licensed associate marriage and family therapist means any person who holds to the above description, but who practices under the supervision of a licensed marriage and family therapist.
